Carly and Emily Cheung represented Victoria on the third season of the popular competitive cooking show “My Kitchen Rules.” Their creative cookery took them to third place on the show, surviving many challenges. On 13 June, the sisters appeared at WestWaters Hotel and Entertainment Complex in Caroline Springs for an event in conjunction with the Greater Melton Chamber of Commerce.
No one was eliminated, and there was no “sudden death” at this event. Instead, the evening featured a three course meal, and social atmosphere. “The purpose of the event was to bring like-minded business people together to network and the opportunity to meet Carly and Emily whilst enjoying the service and food we have become renowned for,” said Belinda Lee, of WestWaters Hotel and Entertainment Complex.
WestWaters Hotel and Entertainment Complex hosts many events. “We hold weekly and special events for our guests to come and enjoy, including high tea, Family Fun Day, live music, and more,” said Lee. In addition to their function and event spaces, WestWaters has a bistro, cafe, and sports bar. “We cater for the whole family,” said Lee.
For this event, they marketed via ads in the local weekly paper, put radio ads on Smooth 91.5, and hung posters in the local shopping centre, as well as direct mail and fliers around the venue. All of the advertising encouraged guests to call the venue directly. “This gives us the opportunity to engage the guest,” said Lee.
Everything ran smoothly. “The best part of the event was seeing our guests have a great night,” said Lee. Since she used Eventgroove to manage her tickets, “It enabled us to manage the bookings so we were aware of the number of people to cater for.”
For those planning similar events, Lee offers the following advice: “Enjoy the event, and don’t wear high heels, as you’ll be doing a lot of running around.”
